When was the last time you received kindness from somebody? When was the last time you extended an act of kindness to someone else, and to what end? As it turns out, there can be tremendous merits and outcomes in paying forward a kindness received with a good deed to somebody else, especially when done out of gratitude. The concept of "Paying It Forward" is nothing new, but in our world, I believe we could do with more compassion and selflessness as it brings out the best in us.

The Art of Paying it Forward Without Spending a Dime

When we pay it forward we commit an act of selflessness that transcends our connection to other humans on the planet, elevating the human experience in a positive way. Whether it’s a showing of kindness, faith, or even compassion, it all makes a difference and can potentially trigger a chain reaction of reciprocated behavior.

The Power of Altruism

Classical economics adopts a model that says people are primarily driven by material self-interest. Political science assumes that people are driven to maximize their power. But this worldview is clearly wrong. In real life, the push of selfishness is matched by the pull of empathy and altruism. This is not Hallmark card sentimentalism but scientific fact: As babies our neural connections are built by love and care. We have evolved to be really good at cooperation and empathy. We are strongly motivated to teach and help others.

Ming Huang

Wendy was very patient in explaining to me the differences between policies. She emphasized on my concerns and priorities, rather than rushing through things just to close the deal. Most importantly, she put in the effort and take the initiative to remind me whenever there are updates and the action required.

Yuen Thye,. Software Tester

Wendy was patient whenever we met up to explain what I have, even though she has done so on multiple occasions to make sure that I am aware of what policy I have. Other than that, she would also recommend products that she feels would benefit me a lot, and that is what the experience has been so far, which I feel is valuable as a customer to understand what else I am lacking in terms of protection and investments.

Bao Chuan,. Translator

I first met Wendy online through Zoom because it was during the C19 times that she began managing my portfolio. She listens to her clients, not just for the financial planning process but also for your overall preferences (such as me being an introvert and preferring to do most things over text, except when we do our annual review)! As I started my financial planning journey quite a while ago, Wendy helped me see the areas that were weaker at my current stage in life, such as planning for when I get older because, let's be real, our retirement ages are getting older too, and what worked for me 10 years ago may be a little bit lacking now. Wendy is an easygoing and approachable person. She isn't pushy, but she shows me all the options available and lets me make the decisions myself. She makes our meet-ups convenient and is totally open to even meeting me at a pavilion near my house when my place isn't available. 😂 Wendy is a good consultant to have (even if it's just in your contacts!), especially for the ladies, because she knows what you need and you don't have to worry about your questions being silly as she answers complicated concepts in a way that you'll understand."

Jing Wen,. Senior Finance Executive

I have known Wendy for a long time and I have witnessed her dedication in providing suitable products to her customers as opposed to other financial advisers who sell with the aim of just earning the commission. As someone who values good service, I really appreciate Wendy’s patience in explaining the products that best fit my needs, taking into consideration my concerns and family’s history of health. This assured me in making my choice amongst the many products and agents in the market. I look forward to engaging her in my future needs!

Ruth Y,. Media & Comms Exec

Wendy is very affable as a person, and my experience with her has been a pleasant one. She is responsive to my queries, thorough in her explanations and she has been very dependable throughout this journey, which is something I really appreciate.

Yronne A,. Staff Nurse

Wendy was introduced by my friend 4 years ago and I have entrusted her to be my financial planner since then. She has assisted me with the types of financial plans that deem to benefit me best, concerning my age and health, for the present and future. Wendy is friendly, positive, patient, and always carries a positive and always-ready attitude to deal with any concerns that I have. Add on, despite late hours. Importantly, she planned along with my budget yet ensured what I required was covered. Especially the basics. One of her strongest qualities is her effort to do reviews with her clients every now and then, to improve on her services, and to keep our profiles up to date. Choose. Her. 👍🏻
